Collaboration with PWH on the Work Injury Management

Recently, we have collaborate with Dr. Law Sheung Wai, Consultant of O&T Department to start an Occupational Orthopaedic Clinic. The aim of the clinic is provide a pro-active medical management to work injury cases so that early and efficient rehabilitation can be given.

There is some amendment to ECO which will affect the calculation of compensation. The calculation of compensation needs to be updated.

Amounts of Five Compensation Items under the Employees' Compensation Ordinance Raised

The Employees' Compensation Ordinance (ECO) provides for the payment of compensation to employees and family members of the deceased employees for occupational diseases, injuries or deaths caused by accidents arising out of and in the course of employment. The amendments to the ECO, as passed by the Legislative Council on 30 June 2010, to increase the amounts of five compensation items have taken effect from 1 August 2010. The new levels of compensation are applicable to work accidents which happen on or after 1 August 2010. Details of the amendments are as follows:

We are pleased to inform you that Mr. Michael Yuen and Mr. Michael Ho, experienced Loss Adjusters, have joined TRM. It has strengthened our investigation team, especially on investigation and direct settlement. At present, the case management department has the followings team members:

  • Mr. Michael Ho, Loss Adjuster (Consultant to CM Team and RC Team)
  • Mr. Ben Cheung, Case Management Supervisor
  • Mr. Ricky Lee, Case Management Assistant
  • Mr. Bosco Ho, Case Management Assistant

Due to the Civil Justice Reform, insurers may want to start a pro-active settlement so as to avoid expensive mediation/litigation process. Both our CM and RC team shall review and monitor the case closely if sick leave more than 6 months..
